I’ve had a friend of a friend before who decided to revert back to an omnivorous lifestyle because vegetarianism was simply too expensive, turns out they used to buy a lot of Quorn branded food products which kinda explains why they thought vegetarianism is expensive in comparison to the alternative. I rarely buy Quorn branded products but do understand that they’re rather expensive…

Anyone else heard that “vegetarianism is too expensive”?

I think being vegetarian can be expensive, depending on what types of products you buy. But I’d say the same is also true of any type of diet you eat. I save on my grocery bill by buying in-season fruits and vegetables. I try to cook a lot of my dinners with fresh ingredients because processed dishes tend to cost more per serving.

A good steak is expensive! I don’t think eating healthy is much more expensive than eating good quality meats. My wife also buys fruits and vegetables that are in-season. This seems to help with the price, and the flavor!
