So you’re thinking of reducing or completely removing meat for your diet? Awesome, you’ve come to the right place though there’s a few things you’re probably concerned about, I’ve been there and completely understand so here’s a few notable FAQ’s.
Where do plant based diets get their protein from?
You can actually find protein in lots of plant based foods, beans, seeds, nuts and tofu are rich in protein there’s also smaller amounts found in fruits and vegetables. You can read more information on plant based proteins using these links 1 2
What about vitamin B12?
B12 comes fortified in many foods such as corn flakes, plant based milks, cow milk, eggs, cheese, yogurt, plant based butter and many others. So unless you specifically go out of your way to avoid all of these foods you shouldn’t necessarily be at risk. Failing that you can also find B12 supplements, though I’d suggest professional advice if you suspect you’re suffering from B12 deficiency.
If anyone else has anything else to add feel free to comment and I’ll update! 😃
