If the water doesn't taste good or doesn't feel satisfying, try getting a better quality water. Spring water (from actual springs, I think the label should be correct, but spring sources vary depending on if it is contaminated, even so it is the best kind of bottled water)). "Purified water" can have so many toxins in it, municipal water counts which is known to usually be contaminated. A carbon or ceramic water filter like Berkey is the best kind (unless you have access to a spring that is filtered through a mountain). Filters like Brita don't come close: in taste or actual quality.
Additionally, you can consider adding trace minerals to improve the taste. If you are not feeling satisfied from drinking water, it may because your body is deficient in minerals.
Carbonation negatively effects some people. (probably with digestion - we exhale co2 which is what carbonation is, having it inside is going to make the body work to get it out (2 byproducts are burps and farts))
One metric for how much water to drink is 2 liters per 50 pounds of body weight. So a 150lb person might need about 1.5 gallons. There are more factors than just body weight.
We are about 76% water.
Water is life.
