Mothers day! A day nobody could ever forget, right?
Unfortunately many of us are likely to be spending mothers day away this year, (looking at you COVID). However! That doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate the day from a distance, pun intended. In the UK mothers day falls on the 14th of March and yes I know this blog post is very late because guilty as charged, I forgot.
Anyway, here are a few eco-friendly gifts your mum is sure to love.
While you can’t use them right now for obvious reasons, but when able reusable coffee/tea cups is a step to reducing the amount of plastic we throw away, the Environmental Audit Committee highlighted a Which? report that estimated a whopping 2.5 billion disposable cups are thrown away each year! Bonkers.

You can probably see a pattern forming here, I’m a big fan of reusables. Single use plastic bottles wreck havoc on marine life and can take up to 450 years to decompose in landfill; that water bottle you threw away years ago? It’s going to outlive you and everyone you know, think about that for a second. Everyone needs a reusable bottle, luckily water in the UK is incredibly cheap and a free refills when you’re out and about shouldn’t be too difficult to find, why pay?

How about, organic, fairtrade and palm oil free fudge? As a previous customer I can say they taste as good as they sound. Be careful, there’s no such thing as only “one piece”.
This is not a sponsored post, I’ve personally used both of these companies and have had excellent experience with both.
